Dr. Bracken is Assistant Professor of Medical Genetics at Trinity College Dublin, where he runs a research lab investigating the molecular mechanisms of epigenetic regulation of processes such as stem cell differentiation and cellular senescence, with a particular interest in the role of the polycomb proteins. Prior to taking up this position, he trained as a postdoctoral scientist in Denmark and Italy, where he studied the polycomb proteins in cellular senescence. He has published his work in Genes & Development, Nature Cell Biology, Nature Reviews Cancer, and Developmental Cell, among others.
