In 2016, Professor Bennett took up a post as Associate Professor in RCSI Population and Health Sciences. Prior to this post, she was a Senior Lecturer in Pharmacoepidemiology and Statistics at the Trinity Centre for Health Science, St. James’s Hospital, since 2001. She has been involved in scientific research and statistical consultancy for more than 15 years, and in that time has developed an epidemiological model to explain the decline in heart disease mortality in Ireland, and has worked on data analysis, modeling and forecasting of prescribing in Ireland.

She is currently taking part in a number of national and international collaborative research projects, including pharmacoepidemiology on Irish national prescribing databases, epidemiological modeling of transitions in cardiovascular disease/diabetes and associated risk factors in European and Mediterranean countries, and Health Impact Assessment for cardiovascular disease and cancer.
